Hair loss is something which brings along with it many kinds of psychological problems like depression, loss of self esteem and fall in self confidence. The agony of loosing hair and going bald can be best explained by a a person who is bald. It is agonizingly painful and a mental torture seeing the loss of hair everyday.
The first few days of hair loss is lost in convincing oneself that it is untrue. When a person looses his hair in tufts especially after a bath or after combing he consoles himself that it could be due to the climate or the hair fall is like a falling leaves in autumn and new hairs will sprout out.
It is when the first sign of scalp is visible that the person becomes panicky and starts running after oils and magic formulas which promises that the oil will somehow convince the unwilling scalp to sprout a fresh crop of healthy hair. After spending a fortune and endless procedures the truth finally sinks in that what has been lost is lost and nothing will make even a single hair germinate from the fallow scalp.
There is a great deal of change in the persons personality. He starts wearing a cap for a a major part of the day. He starts developing a deep revulsion of seeing his face in the mirror. To make his woes more excruciating his friends start giving him new epithets like baldy or good night or worse barren field.
In the end the person resigns to his fate and tries to laugh off his shortcomings. And rightly so considering that it saves a lot of money and does away with the need for barbers ,mirrors and combs. Not to mention the respect one gains as a elder who has aged far beyond his years. And don't worry about your partner who is proud of having a moon in her home.
